Mindful Living for Students (ages 10-13): A Still Quiet Place

A Mindfulness Curriculum developed by Dr. Amy Saltzman to help youth cultivate resilience, a growth mindset, and strong social and emotional skills.

Children learn to slow down and focus their attention within to discover the “Still Quiet Place“ within themselves. This helps them make more responsible, compassionate, and healthy choices.

Mindfulness is paying attention to your life, here and now, with kindness and curiosity. ... This ability to pay attention is a natural, innate human capacity. - Dr. Amy Saltzman

After 8 sessions of this course, 10-13 year olds have experienced benefits such as:

  • Increased focus: greater ability to direct their attention to what serves them

  • Greater emotional intelligence: less reactivity and more ability to respond mindfully

  • Improved prosocial skills: more compassion towards self and others

These gains translate into meaningful changes in kids’ behavior at home and at school. Research supports the importance of teaching these beneficial life skills early - before children enter their teenage years or experience the stress of adulthood.

When: Tuesday’s and Thursday’s 4:00 -5:15 pm PST Starting June 8th,10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th and July 1st.
